Putting requires good accuracy which is achieved by freezing the hands and body throughout the pendulum swing in a straight line. Proper set-up when preparing for a putting stroke is:
- Eyes over ball
- The putterhead has to be square to the target line at impact
- 2 choices for stroking: straight up and tighten the armpits or anchor at the shoulder with the swing
Playing well means you can hole out in each hole with minimum strokes. Good knowledge in golf rules; possession of quality equipment and clubs; being properly dressed and back-up of learned technique all contribute to being a good golfer.
